Money Saving ideas on planning a birthday Party

Instagram The saying "Birthday Party" is barley off a Mum's lips whether your child is attending as a guest or planning a party & spending £100+. Planning your child's party doesn't naturally seam to lend itself  to money saving tips and tricks, since no one wants to cut corners of their child's special day.

Fortunately, there are many great ways to save money without taking the fun out the party, Stick to simple sandwiches, pizza with cake and ice-cream.
Fruit & veggie plates can quickly add up.

Plan your child's birthday party after Lunch but before Tea, and everyone will expect this to be a light snack of party food, be sure to mention the words snack on the invitation so no one expects a full meal.

Do it yourself - Consider a party at Home.

While it may seam easier to let  a party location handle the goody bags of food or to head out the order of cake. you will ending up spending more money and not saving yourself that much time.

Make a cake the night before or if you struggle with baking make smaller cupcakes. These can be from £8 in your local supermarket up to 100+ for a bespoke design.

Have your child help with the goody bags, they will also enjoy enjoy being more involved in the party. Stick to simple goodies & treats, you only need a few as a party gesture, we all know these end up in the bin when we get home from a party!

Buy a squash instead of expensive sodas, Orange & blackcurrant are the most popular children like to drink.

Blow up balloons and add a happy birthday banner and you will have a great party scene.

Follow the mindset of doing everything yourself and you will save money.

Don't feel the pressure of inviting the whole class just stick to a few best friends.

To make it interesting add a theme e.g. Pirate & Princess, this covers a huge range of costumes which other parents may have in the wardrobe.

If you have a summer party have it outside, this can save a lot on the cleaning up afterwards.

Play party games before the food like musical statues, musical bumps, pass the parcel or a treasure hunt in the garden.

Ensure you add a time to collect party guests by 1.5 to 2 hours are plenty.

Skip the pre-arranged parties at the local bowling alley or ice-skating as this is where the money can add up to £15+ per head, yes it is easy and you can simply turn up with your child and await your guests.

Other moms will appreciate that you aren't just sending home more clutter, and you will save money, too. You don't have to take the fun out of the birthday party to save money.

With these money saving tips and by planning well and realising that less can really be more, your child's birthday party can be successful and affordable.

After the party I receomend putting your feet up with a large glass of wine and a pat on the back. - Well done
